The rhythm of the body,
the melody of the mind and
the harmony of the soul
create the symphony of life.
I’m just over 1 week in to 30 Days of Yoga and I’m amazed. Truly.
My friend Rochelle explained one of the biggest learnings I’m having more succinctly that I could. “It is not a matter of if [I'm going to do my yoga practice], now it is when.”
This simple yoga practice has already become a part of my life.
Prior to starting 30 Days of Yoga I had started thinking about how I may have a skewed view of exercise. I’ve always thought of it as something extra, and often thought of it as self care. Yes, exercise is about taking care of myself. But, exercise should not be something extra. It should be a part of what I do every day, just like I choose healthy nourishing foods and like I brush my teeth and wash my face.
Exercise is meant to be a daily practice, not something you try to squeeze in every so often. Exercise should be a part of our every day life.
Now, that may be seen as extreme. But wait. My daily exercise practice only takes about 10 minutes. On the days that time allows it is longer. Some days I also go for a walk or run. So far in September a simple daily practice has been truly eye opening. Sure I may falter after these 30 Days are complete. For now I’m relishing in moving my body, every day, and listening to the great symphony of my life.
