I’m so excited to kick off my 30 Days of Yoga tomorrow, and even more excited to have so many of you joining me on this journey.
I’ve had some questions about putting together the practice and what exactly a Vinyasa or Sun Salutation is. In this post I’ve included some links to videos that will help you begin a simple yoga practice if you are new to yoga.
(I feel like I should put in a little disclaimer that you should think about your health and abilities before starting a yoga practice. I’m not a yoga teacher. If you have questions or concerns I’d be happy to help as I can and point you in the right direction to get some tips.)
I will think of you all as I roll out my mat. My first 10 Sun Salutations will be full of gratitude, dedicated to each and every one of you.
Every day during the month of September I will be doing 10 Sun Salutations, 5 of Sun Salutation A and 5 of Sun Salutation B. That’s 10 Sun Salutations for 30 days, 300 total. All because I’ve always wanted to create a daily yoga practice and this seemed like a fun and accessible way to do it.
Sun Salutation A
If you are a beginner this is a great video that has variations built into the explanation. As a beginner 10 of these Sun Salutations will be an amazing practice.
This second video also shows Sun Salutation A and is appropriate for those of you who have a bit more experience with yoga.
Sun Salutation B
Sun Salutation B is a bit longer, including some lunges in the sequence. All the poses are explained well in this video and it is inspiring to watch as one pose flows so beautifully into the next.
